JumpStitch FAQ for Shop Owners

Kimberbell will introduce a new marketing initiative called Jumpstitch—a jumpstart to machine embroidery. Using our reach and resources to grow the machine embroidery industry, Jumpstitch will create both loyal fans and new customers for you.

The target audience will be online consumers who primarily purchase from embroidery sites, plus makers and crafters. We are confident once consumers experience Kimberbell, through our innovative designs and step-by-step instructions, they will purchase more designs and project materials, plus attend classes and events in your shop.

Jumpstitch projects will be stand-alone designs available for purchase on kimberbell.com. The projects are unique and will not be the same as other Kimberbell products available at your shop. Advertising will direct consumers to shops to purchase supplies needed for completing the project and where they will see the full Kimberbell line you have to offer.

Q:  What is the purpose of the Jumpstitch program?

A:  Our team is committed to expanding the machine embroidery industry by finding new ways to reach potential consumers. Like you, our goal is to have more people buy embroidery machines. Jumpstitch is a marketing program that will meet consumers where they are, win them over with a fantastic Kimberbell product, and nurture them into fans who will buy more Kimberbell designs, plus unique project materials only available in your shop.


Q:  How will Jumpstitch reach new customers?

A:  We have identified two market segments that we feel have a high potential to achieve this goal: online/download embroidery shoppers and the DIY/makers. 

  • Online/download consumers are familiar with machine embroidery, but often do it in isolation, without exposure to all that a shop has to offer. Because our products and programs are available in shops, many have not heard of Kimberbell or had a chance to experience it.
  • Makers are typically a younger audience, who are very active in social media channels like Pinterest and Instagram. These crafty DIYers are hungry for new types of creative experiences 

Jumpstitch will connect with these consumers where they are (online) and help them try Kimberbell. We are confident we can then make them into fans that will search out and purchase our designs and project materials, plus attend events and classes in your shop.


Q:  How will Jumpstitch projects be sold?

A:  Jumpstitch projects will be stand-alone designs available as a digital purchase from kimberbell.com.


Q:  Will Jumpstitch designs be the same as what I offer in my shop?

A:  Jumpstitch projects are unique and will not be the same as other Kimberbell products available in your shop. The limited designs will coordinate with Kimberbell products, plus feature blanks and embellishments. 


Q:  How will the Jumpstitch program benefit my shop?

A:  Advertising will direct consumers to shops to purchase supplies needed for completing the project and where they will see the full Kimberbell line. You will receive advance notice of the project supplies, allowing time to have the coordinating products ready in your shop. Consumers who want to make the project as pictured, will have to go to your shop to find the needed fabric and supplies.


Q:  How often will Kimberbell release a Jumpstitch project?

A:  Jumpstitch projects will be ready 2-3 weeks following a new product release. Examples of Jumpstitch projects include the Summer Scoops Clasp Purse which coordinates with two new releases: Vintage Boardwalk and Keepsake Clasp Purses. The Mermazing Waters design will promote sales for Kimberbell Curated: Enchanted. 


Q:  Can I use Jumpstitch projects for classes in my shop?

A:  No. Kimberbell Dealer Exclusives is ideal for classes, product demos, and make-and-take projects in your shop. Dealer Exclusives designs will remain exclusive to that program.


Q:  Why can’t I sell Jumpstitch downloads? Is there a way for customers to give my store credit for the purchase?

A:  We have not created an affiliate link for Jumpstitch purchases. Using our reach and resources to grow the machine embroidery industry, our marketing efforts will focus on promoting Kimberbell through social media outlets such as Pinterest, Facebook, and more. After becoming excited about the Kimberbell brand, consumers will have an increased desire to attend embroidery clubs, classes, and events bringing more people into your business.
